Happy new year and thank you for a great year! We have grown allot this year and seeme to have made a few new returning readers to our site, which we are grateful for.
A word from our admins:
Stian Bjelland (Morbidos): When we first started out we did not expect to grow this fast, in our first brainstorm we predicted to be where we are now after 4-5 years of heavy posting so to see the site become what it is now this fast is really gratifying. I my self had a vision to start this blog just to fill my spare time but it has turned into something bigger in a heartbeat and I believe this is the reason we sometimes struggle to keep the post flowing and follow the latest news. This is something I intend to focus on resolving within the first quarter on 2012 so we can stay ahead. I would like to thank everyone that has helped develop this site and that have contributed to it’s content, be it by writing post, tip us on post ideas or just inspiring us to do better! Thank you all!

Jan Brekke (Janix): Wish to thank all our readers for still sticking with us even thou the posting sometimes get reduced. I actually never thought that this project would get this big. We hope to be able to bring you more interesting info in 2012, and try to develop a strategy plan on how to accomplish this. Also, I wish to thank the therapy company that sent us our first test product (YES, a therapy company. See our older posts). I hope that we get’s the opportunity in 2012 to deliver more product reviews. Thank you all!

We look forward to another year of writing. We plan to continue to follow up on older posts, and expand our subject list. We also plan on posting more often than we currently do, and are trying to shift things around to make more time for this site. Hopefully we will also be covering a wider aspect to increase our field of knowledge.

Merry Christmas

Google brings us a white christmas
If you type “do a barrel roll” in Google’s search field the whole page will literally do a barrel roll
Now the funny geeks at Google have released a new feature…
SNOW! Yes… snow… just head over too Google and type “let it snow” and see for your self
Fist of it starts to snow and you will notice that your screen seems to freeze like a window in your house
Then after a while your screen freezes completely and you can’t see anything…
Now you can choose to remove all the frost by clicking “Defrost” or you can have some Christmas fun and use your mouse pointer too left click and drag/scrape the frost away like we did
If you do click the “Defrost” button you are still left with just the falling snow, tho the screen will not freeze over again. If you don’t want to close the window to get rid of the snow effect you can type in “stop the snow” this will deactivate the falling snow!
We decided to keep it on for the holidays, It is after all just Christmas once a year!

Start your Android phone as an OS on your computer
How to start your android phone’s operating system on your computer with a nice graphical touch? It’s very easy and we’ll tell you how!
The Preparations
The first thing you need to do is to head over to the android market and download the free application called “AirDroid”. This application will stream and beautify what you would normally see on your android phone. Once installed, start it and swipe to the right side. There you will find the settings. To prevent other to interfere with your session, we suggests that you set the password control to “ON” and set a personal password. The next you should do (this might only be handy for advanced users) is to set a custom port. This will prevent the session to get in conflict with for instance Torrents, or other applications roaming around on the network that requires specific ports.
And this is just about it.. You should now be ready to start.
What’s Next..??
Just turn on your phones WIFI and wait for the signal bars in the application to turn green. Once they are green you should see a “Start” button appear. Hit it..!
Now, walk over to your computer and open a web browser. Type in your android phone’s IP address and port and the login screen should appear. What you should write in the web browser’s address field is shown on the AirDroid application after pressing the
“Start” button. The address should look something like: “http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:<Port number>”. In our place the this is how it looks: “http://192.168.10.170:8888″. Just remember that this is based on the network router settings and the pre-set port number.
When you now see the login portal we suggest that you hit the F11 button on your keyboard. This will put the web browser in a full screen view. Now you may log on.
Which features do I have?
Once inside, you may:
- open text messages
- send and receive SMS
- see/edit the call log
- browse or edit the phone book
- install/uninstall apps
- see the phones status like CPU/RAM/Battery/disk space
- browse the SD card using a file explorer
- download/upload from the SD card
- Kill running apps
- And much more…
Things that we are not able to do, is to start applications, and call other people using a headset or like other telephone applications like Skype. But hopefully this will come in later versions as this is a growing project..

Check what your household is downloading!
Got a teenager that spends a fair amount of time with the computer? worried he might be into piracy?
There is a tool to check what has been downloaded to your house this looks up your IP and somehow shows you what torrents have been downloaded, how it works and how to protect yourself against it? well only the developers of the site knows… and by the looks of it they wont share it…
They do offer to remove you if the feel your reason it good enough but if they say no well that’s they’re choice to make… check what your IP has been downloading at they’re site
