Ingress, the game

We have been testing the new alternate reality game (ARG) Ingress, and it is really addictive

The game is still under development and is in beta testing at the moment so we are unsure about how much we are allowed to say about it but the game in itself is really nice, and makes you think twice if you see anyone next to a monument with a Android phone. You get sort of a matrix feeling when you run around town hacking portals and linking them with others… We recently hosted a event on Google + where anyone in the Stavanger region in the resistance faction of Ingress could join and meet up for a attack on the enlightenment factions portals in the Stavanger area, so it is a great way to meet new people with a common interest…

There is something very wrong

Google is testing out a new kind of game for mobile devices, the game is called Ingress and is currently invite only. As far as we have been told the point of the game is to find something called Exotic mater around the world, yes the real world… since our invite has yet to arrive we can’t tell you a lot about it but check out this video

Or check out our good friend Johnny’s post about it here! We will be back once we can…

The dawn of a new Engine!

Square Enix showed off they’re new Graphics engine Luminous Studio at E3 2012 and oh what a sweet engine it is, the geniuses at Square Enix have designed to flow seamless from movie sequences to realtime gaming and we can promptly declare that this objective has been reached. The engine is also scale able so that it can be used for all kinds of devices be it smartphones or computer.

Check out the video below, but do for the love of god sett it to 1080p HD…

Sega makes sure you’ll never be bored again while urinating

We love technology that they develop in Japan. Many countries seems to be afraid of change and to try something new but NOT Japan. The entertainment company Sega was in 2011 launching a “Kill-Boredom” solution while urinating. This is mainly only available for men at the moment, but as an innovating country they are, we assume the female version ain’t that far behind.

This doesn’t come as a shock to us as Japan already already has technology built into their toilets, They are most commonly known for functions like; posterior shower jets and perfume bursts to make you smell nice. A great thing about having Sega install these short games into urinals is to trigger the competitive instinct in humans to actually try to hit that target in the porcelain bowl. This will make sure that the urine ends up in the toilet and not on the floor.

Before you start you will have the option to choose from four different games which Sega has chosen to call “The Toy-Let Games”. Each urinal is constructed with a pressure sensor, and a small screen placed at eye level that will display the game itself while you pee, and show you the results. As a bonus, it will also show you the amount of liquid you managed to squeeze out, combined with a tiny static commercial.

Have a look at the video below to see it in action..

Play the classic Nokia Snake game at YouTube

Have you ever had the experience of watching a completely boring movie that your Facebook friend sent you from YouTube?? Why not play a game instead without closing YouTube??

YouTube is a great place to find movie clips off all kinds of stuff. Some use it to illegally watch TV series, others use it to get a laugh, and a few of us use it to stimulate their “personal needs”. YouTube has simply become one of the biggest media broadcast website in the world with over 20 million guests each day! YouTube went public in February 2005 but was bought by Google Inc. in 2006 for $1.65 billion dollars (Qwiki.com 2011)

Now YouTube also provides a hidden feature that allows their guests to play the classical Nokia snake game with the movie clip as the background. The hidden feature can only be activated if the user enters the hidden key combination on their keyboard.

The steps
  1. First you need to click on a movie clip to make it start.
  2. Then you need to pause the clip.
  3. The next you need to do is to hit the arrow keys: Right + Up at the same time.
  4. You should now see the a gray snake fly across the movie clip.

The snake is operated by the arrow keys, and you only have one attempt to eat the things. When you “die”, the game ends and you will need to enter the arrow combination again.

As a tip if it doesn’t start on the first try, you should keep on hitting the arrow combination more that 2 times. That should do the trick. Another thing to keep in mind is the background color. The snake and the “snake bait” is light gray so a dark background is highly recommended.

Have fun….

The dinosaurs are coming back

Telltale games have announced a new Jurassic Park game, a direct sequel to the original movie.

Universal probably did not want another dino hunter shoot’em up game and that’s where Telltale games comes into the picture as they are well known for their focus on character building like they did in both Sam & Max and Tales of monkey island

Judging from the trailer it looks like we’re going get some answers to the questions we had after the first movie, like what happened to the can of dino DNA that Nedry stole from the lab and lost in the mud?

The game is set to launch no Pc, Mac and all consoles the launch was scheduled for July 2010 but has been postponed and is rumored around April 2011 but this is unconfirmed here’s the trailer… For now that’s we got

Call of Duty 4 prequel rumors surfacing around the web

Rumors are surfacing around the web on different sites that a prequel of the well known games series COD Modern warfare is under construction at Infinity ward but it will not be released this year.

It is sayd that this episode of the series will focus on the character “Ghost” who first appeared in Modern Warfare II and in parts of the game players will revisit locations from both COD 4 and Modern warfare II to learn how “Ghost” became a part of Task Force 141 and to learn about the characters life before this.

This is still unconfirmed rumors but according to Jason Andrews at thisisxbox.com his source is trustworthy due to earlier leaks being correct, but when asked about it Robert Bowling at Infinity ward he did not confirm or deny the rumors.
