How to solve: No value could be found for (AllowHotkey) that satisfies all lockdown requirements. The lockdown requirements in force may be conflicting error in Citrix

Have you ever loged on to Citrix and just when  your about to start one of the published applications you get this fancy “latin” error message?

Citrix Receiver Configuration Manager: No value could be found for (AllowHotkey) that satisfies all lockdown requirements  The lockdown requirements in force may be conflicting.

It’s not that hard so solveCitrix Logo

Earlier you had to delete a whole bunch of registry keys from the computer.
But we feel that this way is so much better!

So, what you do is to click on “start”. If you have Windows 8, just go into the Metro.
Just start typing regedit and click enter.
if your not familliar with this, it’s not something you should play with on your own unless you have a guide, or really know what you’re doing.

Go to the top and navigate to this location:

  1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  2. Software
  3. Citrix
  4. ICA Client
  5. Engine
  6. Lockdown Profiles
  7. All Regions

Here you will find a registry key called: EnableLockdown
Double click this key, and you will see that the value is set to “1″.

Simply change this to “0″ and click “OK”.

Now close your web browser, and reopen it.
You should now be free of anoying AllowHotKey errors.

There is something very wrong

Google is testing out a new kind of game for mobile devices, the game is called Ingress and is currently invite only. As far as we have been told the point of the game is to find something called Exotic mater around the world, yes the real world… since our invite has yet to arrive we can’t tell you a lot about it but check out this video

Or check out our good friend Johnny’s post about it here! We will be back once we can…

A sad story

It seems that after shutting down the Qwiki web interface in Feb 2012 the dev’s at Qwiki have decided to go Mobile only, which would have been great if they didn’t choose to go Iphone only… We here at Nordic-Vikings are heavy Android users (part from Morten which is Apple only thus he writes Apple related storeys ) and would really love to be included it this transformation of Qwiki, the engine we used to use and love seems dead now… We hope they bring in Android support in the future and if they do we will inform you. But for now, RIP Qwiki

Make Google translate beatbox!

As we have stated before the guys at Google have a great sense of humor!

We came across this Video on Youtube.com and had to try it out!

The trick is to change Google translate language setting to German to German then have it translate the following string “ pv zk pv pv zk pv zk cz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk pzk pzk pvzkpkzvpvzk kkkkkk bsch bsch ” then press the little speaker icon in the right hand textbox which usually reads “Listen” if you hover the mouse pointer over it but the guys at Google have made it recognize the translated string and made it to read “Beatbox” instead!

Do you miss Command & Conquer?

Start your Android phone as an OS on your computer

How to start your android phone’s operating system on your computer with a nice graphical touch? It’s very easy and we’ll tell you how!

 AirDroid Logo

The Preparations

The first thing you need to do is to head over to the android market and download the free application called “AirDroid”. This application will stream and beautify what you would normally see on your android phone. Once installed, start it and swipe to the right side. There you will find the settings. To prevent other to interfere with your session, we suggests that you set the password control to “ON” and set a personal password. The next you should do (this might only be handy for advanced users) is to set a custom port. This will prevent the session to get in conflict with for instance Torrents, or other applications roaming around on the network that requires specific ports.

And this is just about it.. You should now be ready to start.

What’s Next..??

Just turn on your phones WIFI and wait for the signal bars in the application to turn green. Once they are green you should see a “Start” button appear. Hit it..!

Now, walk over to your computer and open a web browser. Type in your android phone’s IP address and port and the login screen should appear. What you should write in the web browser’s address field is shown on the AirDroid application after pressing theSettings © Nordic Vikings.net “Start” button. The address should look something like: “http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:<Port number>”. In our place the this is how it looks: “http://192.168.10.170:8888″. Just remember that this is based on the network router settings and the pre-set port number.

When you now see the login portal we suggest that you hit the F11 button on your keyboard. This will put the web browser in a full screen view. Now you may log on.

Which features do I have?

Once inside, you may:

  • open text messages
  • send and receive SMS
  • see/edit the call log
  • browse or edit the phone book
  • install/uninstall apps
  • see the phones status like CPU/RAM/Battery/disk space
  • browse the SD card using a file explorer
  • download/upload from the SD card
  • Kill running apps
  • And much more…

Things that we are not able to do, is to start applications, and call other people using a headset or like other telephone applications like Skype. But hopefully this will come in later versions as this is a growing project..

Nordic Vikings will follow this application and keep you updated as they roll out.
