There is something very wrong
Google is testing out a new kind of game for mobile devices, the game is called Ingress and is currently invite only. As far as we have been told the point of the game is to find something called Exotic mater around the world, yes the real world… since our invite has yet to arrive we can’t tell you a lot about it but check out this video
Or check out our good friend Johnny’s post about it here! We will be back once we can…
A sad story
It seems that after shutting down the Qwiki web interface in Feb 2012 the dev’s at Qwiki have decided to go Mobile only, which would have been great if they didn’t choose to go Iphone only… We here at Nordic-Vikings are heavy Android users (part from Morten which is Apple only thus he writes Apple related storeys ) and would really love to be included it this transformation of Qwiki, the engine we used to use and love seems dead now… We hope they bring in Android support in the future and if they do we will inform you. But for now, RIP Qwiki
Family Guy Online (Beta)
We recently came across this little browser based online game, and it is a treat!
You play a character of choice inside Quahog and run around doing missions for the characters in the TV series. The graphics aren’t the wildest 3d effect ever but you don’t need it. The game is in beta right now and you have to request access but it’s totally worth it… this game is pure fun! so head on over to Family Guy Online and let’s play!
Check out these screenshots, and if you join add us to your friend list! Nickname “Morbidos”.
Make Google translate beatbox!
As we have stated before the guys at Google have a great sense of humor!
We came across this Video on Youtube.com and had to try it out!
The trick is to change Google translate language setting to German to German then have it translate the following string “ pv zk pv pv zk pv zk cz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk pzk pzk pvzkpkzvpvzk kkkkkk bsch bsch ” then press the little speaker icon in the right hand textbox which usually reads “Listen” if you hover the mouse pointer over it but the guys at Google have made it recognize the translated string and made it to read “Beatbox” instead!
Do you miss Command & Conquer?
Miss the classic Command & Conquer game? Well it is now available in your browser!(as long as it supports HTML 5 that is…)
Aditya Ravi Shankar is a HMTL 5 programmer who decided he would try to recreate the classic game Command & Conquer in HTML 5 and Java script and so he did!
Check out his Blog at adityaravishankar.com or more specific Here for the game.
Check out his post about the progress of making the game here
We tried and tested it and it is great fun to play it again!
Quick and easy photoshareing in Chrome and Firefox
Tired of having to upload pictured you want to share to picture hosting sites first then sharing them? Here’s a quicker way of doing this, it takes away all the hassel!
The 15 year old application creator @antimatter15 has created the open source app called drag2up.
What this app does is as simple as it’s genius, let’s say you’re writeing a blog post and you have a photo on you’re desktop you’re going to have in your blog post instead of having to log on to your image hosting site of choice just drag it to the textbox and as you continue to write drag2up uploads it to the image hosting site you like in the background and when done the link to it pop up in your blog hassle free
The app also has a built-in feature for automated url shortening and works with both dropbox and cloudapp.
Check out this video to see how the app works.
